(Serves 12)

2 cups of flour
9 Tablespoon of shortening
1 TSP sugar
1/2 cup water (at most)
Filling:
1 quart frozen blackberries
1 cup of sugar
3 Tablespoon flour
Equipment:
8' pie pan
Rolling pin
2 Cup measure cup
1 Tablespoon measure spoon
1 TSP measure spoon
Knife
Cutting board
Extra flour
2 large mixing bowls
First preheat the oven to 350 F.
In a large mixing bowl combine the surgar and flour. Then pour the frozen berries on top of the sugar/flour
mixture and stir until the berries are coated. Set the berries off the the side.
Next, to prepare the dough pour the flour and sugar into the other mixing bowl. Stir all together.
Add the shortening and combine until all the shortening is dispersed. Make an indentation in the center of the flour and shortening
mixture and pour some of the water in. Throw flour on top and mix. Add water as needed. Mix until it is a slightly dry dough.
Flour the cutting board and rolling pin. Then, make a ball out of the dough. Tear in half. Make the two halves
into balls. Lay one aside. Lay the dough on the cutting board and roll out with the rolling pen until it is slightly bigger
than the pie pan. Starting from the end furthest from you, roll until all the dough is on the rolling pen. Carefully move
it over to the pie pan. Lay the rolling pin wrapped in dough onto the pie pan. Unroll the dough. Carfully press it down sp
that it lines the pan. Trim the dough until it is only slightly bigger than the rim of the pie pan.
Aftr that, fill with the berry mix. Place to the side and repeat the step of flouring the cutting board and
rolling pin, rolling out the dough, and rolling up the dough and placin gthe dough onto the filled bottom. Taking the knife,
cut a slit on top and trim th edges.
Pinch the two layers of dought together to make a ceal all the way around the pie. Taking some alluminum foil,
cover the edges. Put in the oven. Cook for 50 minutes. At 25 minutes take off the aluminum foil. Cool and serve!
